The United Kingdom is ready to advance with utilizing the total value of immobilized Russia's funds to support the Ukrainian defense operations, PM Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the leaders of the Britain, France, and Germany stated that this unified step would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and persuade the Russian Federation to engage in negotiations.

They added that the decision would be executed in close cooperation with the US.

UK restrictions have frozen over £25bn of Russian funds since Russia initiated its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. However, up to this point, funds sent to Ukraine using Russian holdings had solely been drawn from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their goal to push forward toward using the total worth of the immobilized Moscow's national holdings to halt hostilities.

He stated that additional restrictions in the coming days and weeks would heighten the tension on Russia.

This statement comes after European representatives gathered in the Danish capital recently to consider utilizing immobilized Russian assets for a €140 billion loan to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, US President Donald Trump urged Group of Seven partners to confiscate or utilize immobilized Russian holdings, according to media sources.

The total of frozen Russia's holdings in the Europe is estimated to be nearly €211bn.

President Zelensky encourages the United Kingdom's Sir Keir Starmer to join the Purl programme

The Russian government carried out large-scale bombardments throughout Ukraine on Friday, causing electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the city, and eight other regions.

Several persons were lost their lives and no fewer than 20 people were hurt in the attack, the Ukrainian government stated.

In a update on social media following the attack, Zelensky stated that the premeditated assault targeted non-military and power facilities.

"The necessity is not mere statements but firm measures - from the US, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in providing anti-aircraft weapons and applying sanctions," he stated.

"All penalty impositions undermines Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky noted, in a additional update.

In the same period, Zelensky told reporters he would encourage Sir Keir to join the PURL programme, under which Nato countries purchase arms from the United States to provide to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the United Kingdom's consistent assistance for the Ukrainian government, he noted it should indicate firmly that it would participate in the system, as well as impose more measures on the Russian Federation.
