Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four games.

A family member advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great success on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
