Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have stated that a former physician now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

Breakdown of Charges

Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
