Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Regional Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is unclear and the United States has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations linked to the the regime, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.
Additional Developments
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
